We bring a combined 125 years of financial experience to assist in solving client's problems through insurance based solutions. Our strength is in being able to take complex financial problems and convert them to formats which may be readily solved through an insurable structure.
THOMAS A. OROFINO
Mr. Orofino is Managing Partner of Collateral Guaranty LLC, which, in conjunction with its predecessor company, was formed in November 1995 to engage in the innovative product design, execution, underwriting and management of large, complicated residual value insurance programs. Collateral Guaranty also designs other forms of asset based insurance products such as Equity Defeasance for Cross Border Lease transactions, Tax Indemnity and Representation & Warranty Insurance.
Mr. Orofino has served as a Senior Vice President of Diamond Lease (USA), Inc., a member of the Mitsubishi Group of companies, from 1988 to 1994 executing capital equipment financing, corporate acquisitions, asset-backed securitizations, credit analysis, planning, work-outs and performing treasury management functions.
Prior to Diamond Lease, Mr. Orofino was Executive Vice President of Marketing and Chief Credit Officer of American Finance Group, Inc., Assistant Treasurer and Assistant Secretary of Bendix Corporation and Vice President of Bankers Trust Company. Mr. Orofino has also served as a Vice President & Manager - Lease Financing Division of Bank of America and as Senior Vice President of Equilease Corporation.
Mr. Orofino has authored articles for publication in Equipment Leasing Association’s monthly magazine ELA Today, the Equipment Financing Journal and The Monitor. Some of the articles include:

Mr. Orofino has lectured at the Bermuda Insurance Institute, the Casualty Actuarial Society as well as the International Research Institute on the topics of residual value insurance and financial insurance products and concepts.
Mr. Orofino holds a BA from Villanova University.
HOWARD K. WEBER
Mr. Weber has over 35 years experience in all aspects of Asset Finance including pricing and structuring transactions, private placements of equity in leveraged lease transactions and portfolio management.
Mr. Weber joined Collateral Guaranty after serving as Director in the Asset Finance Group at Societe Generale where he successfully restructured several portfolio transactions and closed a large timber sale transaction backed by a Letter of Credit.
Prior to that Mr. Weber served in a number of positions at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, Bankers Trust and Lehman Brothers where he, in various positions, structured, priced and placed equity in a number of large tax oriented lease transactions.
His career in Asset Finance started at the Chase Manhattan Bank where he developed, maintained and sold a computer model designed to price leveraged leases.
Mr. Weber is the author of numerous articles regarding structures and trends in the leasing industry as well as commenting on the state of the industry.
Mr. Weber received his MBA from Rutgers University and BS in Mathematics from Manhattan College.

DEAN
Mr. Dean is Managing Partner of Collateral Guaranty LLC, which, in conjunction with its predecessor company, was formed in November 1995 to engage in the innovative product design, execution, underwriting and management of large, complicated residual value insurance programs. Prior to joining Collateral Guaranty Mr. Dean served as a Executive Vice President of New England Capital Corporation, a member of the Mitsubishi Group of companies, where he led the company’s marketing activities and created new capital equipment financing programs and private securitization programs for middle market leasing companies. Prior to New England Capital Corporation, Mr. Dean held the following positions:
Managing Director of Blenheim LTD. and President of Blenheim Inc., a global aviation leasing company, Senior Vice President of RTS Capital, Vice President Bank of New England Leasing Corporation andVice President of Bankers Leasing Corporation.
Mr. Dean has also served as an Instructor in Economics University of Delaware.
DAVID B. NEMSCHOFF
Mr. Nemschoff has over 25 years experience in banking and insurance. His activities have included starting up and managing groups responsible for arranging and providing capital for utility and infrastructure operators, transportation companies, and diverse manufacturers. His expertise has been in asset-based and tax-advantaged forms of financings that have been executed in the public and private debt markets. His work has encompassed financial structures that have involved multiple legal and tax regimes and, as well, have been executed with multiple tiers of capital and derivative instruments.
Mr. Nemschoff joined Collateral Guaranty after holding senior level positions at Ambac Assurance and prior to that, Greenwich Capital Markets.
While at Ambac, Mr. Nemschoff was the Managing Director responsible for the “Leasing and Asset Finance” business unit. The group provided financial risk intermediation insurance products to support capital markets executions in such diverse industries as utility and infrastructure operators in the US and Europe, and transportation companies operating on a global basis. Under his leadership, Ambac achieved a market leading and dominant presence in these sectors. Total volume of business transacted during this period exceeded $12 billion. Structures implemented included leveraged leases, equipment trust certificates and securitizations.
Before Ambac, Mr. Nemschoff was a Senior Vice President at Greenwich Capital Markets (successor to NatWest Markets), where he headed up the leasing business in North America. His experience there centered on arranging and providing capital for utilities and energy companies, airlines, and railroads. Structures implemented included leveraged leases, asset-secured loans and publically placed debt.
Mr. Nemschoff received his MBA from the University of Maryland, where he also served as a research associate for a congressional commission tasked to develop legislation related to energy and transportation/infrastructure sectors. His undergraduate degree is from the University of Wisconsin, where he graduated with “Distinction in Major.” He has been a frequent speaker at industry symposiums on topics ranging from cross border leasing to aircraft and railcar financing trends. He has published articles related to aircraft finance and leasing in industry trade journals.
